The Spirit of Regeneration
Dear Friend,
As we close out the year, we’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to strengthen the bonds that hold a community together. Many places today feel stretched thin—systems that once supported everyday life don’t always connect well, and people and sectors often end up working in isolation. But here in California, we’re also seeing the opposite happen. A spirit of regeneration is taking hold: more collaboration, more shared purpose, and a growing belief that we can design systems that truly support people, the land, and the ocean.
Food systems show us this clearly. They touch nearly everything—health, housing, education, climate, local jobs—and they remind us that lasting change only happens when we work across boundaries. This year, from statewide partners advancing regenerative food efforts to the micro-enterprise growers at our Regenerate 68! Farm, we are watching regeneration move from the edges into everyday practice.
Our work across Monterey County continues to reinforce this hope.
Through the Attainable Housing Initiative, we’re proving that when employers, land stewards, public agencies, builders, and residents plan together, we can create communities where teachers, nurses, farmers, and young families can afford to live and put down roots. With support, the Future of Blue can reveal the power of fishers, scientists, ports, and local businesses working together to revive a thriving Monterey Bay blue economy.
Across all of these efforts, the lesson is clear: when community, policy, and investment pull in the same direction, regeneration isn’t just an idea—it becomes something we can see and feel. Thank you for walking with us, believing with us, and helping us grow the foundations of a healthier, more resilient future for generations to come.
From all of us at Regenerative California, we wish you a regenerative holiday season.
In partnership,
